The data are compiled from a sample that is based on each album's weekly physical and digital sales.[1] There was sixteen number-one albums in 2011.
Adele's 21 was the longest-running number-one album of 2011, spending a total of twenty-three non-consecutive weeks atop the ARIA Albums Chart.[2]
